Mike Boyette to Be Pilot In
Fire Control At
Kirbyville ,

Service with headquarters at the
E. O. Seicke State Forest near
Kirbyville, announced that Jack
Risinger has been employed as
educational officer and special
Texas ranger, replacing R. K.
Epps, retired, and that Mike Boy-
ette is now the pilot in the fire l
control department, replacing
Chester Havard who is attending
collPge in New Mexico
Mr. Risinger holds a bachelor's
degree in Agriculture Education
from Sam Houston State College
in Huntsville. Prior to his em-
ployment by the Texas Forest
Service he worked for the Humble
Oil Company and the New Era
Electric Cooperative, Inc. Mr.
Risinger will work specifically on
fire prevention in Jasper, Newton, i
Orange and Sabine Counties. `
Young Boyette, who is only 18 i
years old, started learning to fly
when he was 11. When he was 14
he had formal instruction in an
area flying school and completed
the required number of hours to
solo at 15. He soloed at 16 which
is the minimum age as set up by
the Civil Aeronautics Administra-
tion. He received his student li-
cense in_ 1955 and his private
license in 1956. He has logged al-
most 300 flying hours. He com-
pleted his high school graduation
requirements in the summer of
